Tollywood Biggies Stay Away From Nandi Function

The so-called prestigious Nandi awards function held by the Andhra Pradesh government at Lalitha Kala Thoranam on Friday night was without big stars of Telugu film industry.
Except veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao and senior actor Balakrishna, besides the awardees themselves, not many stars from Telugu film industry attended the function. In fact, the Nandi awards function itself is being held after two years and the awards pertained to 2010-11. “It is unfortunate that none of the present-day big heroes and heroines attended the awards function, which is supposed to be celebrated by the entire Telugu film industry. Even the technical staff of the Tollywood did not attend the function,” commented an award winner.
Producer Natti Kumar said the Nandi awards function had become a big farce, confined to a few influential people. “Most of the artistes and technicians from the Telugu film industry did not receive any invitations from the government. How can they attend the function without invitations?” he asked..
